The University celebrated its centenary in 2017, marking 100 years since its establishment in 1917. As a part of the commemoration, a new Centenary Administrative block is proposed.
The project involves the design and construction of an administrative building for Osmania University, featuring G+2 structure. The building is situated on a site covering 13.80 ac. With a total built area of 1.71 lakh sft.
The site is strategically located within the University campus ensuring accessibility and connectivity to various academic departments and facilities along with separate access from Tarnaka- Habsiguda Main Road.
Site planning involves both Functional requirements and aesthetic integration. The layout ensures efficient circulation for pedestrians and vehicles, with clear pathways and accessible entrances. Green spaces and landscaping are strategically incorporated to soften the built environment and create aesthetic views.
The building comprises of designated areas for administrative offices, conference facilities, visitor facilities, examination departments, Vice Chancellor and Chancellor offices along with Support facilities.
The building adopts courtyard planning allowing Natural Light and Ventilation into the building and offering views of greenery enhancing aesthetic appeal.
Administrative building presents itself with a contemporary façade that embodies modern architectural principles, characterized by clean lines, use of glass, geometric shapes etc. in contrast to the entrance gateway leading to the administrative building that mimics the OU- Arts College façade elements like arches, parapet detailing etc.
